Snapshots

What’s to be gained from a snapshot?  There’s nothing there a good imagination couldn’t cure.  Sorry Olympus and Nikon, a snapshot can be a painful experience.

Then viewed from Now may sometimes be too poignant for a sentimentalist to bear.  Tiny windows punched through time’s wall  -too tiny to squeeze through but big enough to usurp the present-  may wrench a sensitive psyche out of whack, especially one with even a nano of regret.

To make the future bearable, live each moment as if it were a snapshot to be viewed forty years down the road by a somewhat vulnerable person on his 6th beer or Lagavulin.  And throw your camera out the window.
